Toni Kukoc, one of Europe’s top basketball players, passed up the Chicago Bulls and signed with Benetton of the Italian League in a deal that could make him the world’s highest-paid basketball player.
The Italian club did not disclose terms, but published reports in Italy said the 6-foot-8 Yugoslavian signed a five-year deal worth $16.6 million.
