Parkinson to Run Two Events in 1-A Finals

ARCADIA — Running in the Southern Section 1-A track and field preliminaries for the first time Saturday at Arcadia High, Amber Parkinson of Orange Lutheran qualified for Friday’s finals in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.
Parkinson, a sophomore who had never run track before this year, had the fastest 3,200 qualifying time, 10 minutes 57.19 seconds, and the second-fastest 1,600 mark, 5:06.62.
She advances to Friday’s finals at Cerritos College.
