Old batteries, paint, solvents, herbicides, pesticides and pool chemicals will be collected at Household Hazardous Waste Roundups Saturday at Rockwell International, 2825 E. Avenue P in Palmdale, and June 15 at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.
Both events will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at no cost to county residents.
The program is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and Sanitation Districts.
Residents should bring up to five gallons or 50 pounds of household hazardous waste per vehicle. Wastes should be in their original, labeled containers and stored in a sturdy cardboard box that can be left at the site. No ammunition, explosives or radioactive materials will be accepted.
