San Marino : Lacy Park Open Sundays
Just in time for Mother’s Day, Lacy Park will reopen to visitors on Sundays.
The City Council voted unanimously Wednesday to reopen the Virginia Road Park today. City Manager Keith Till said that because of staff cutbacks due to Proposition 13, the park was closed on weekends. In 1988, the park was reopened on Saturdays.
The park will be opened between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for a six-month trial period, because of concerns over how the Sunday opening may affect the surrounding neighborhood.
Park use will be free for San Marino residents and $3 for non-residents. Residents will be asked to show identification at the gate.
