Sheriff’s detectives said Friday they are seeking the public’s help in the investigation of the shooting death last month of a man in Cardiff.
Shortly after 11 p.m. April 16, Nerssi Moshtagh, 27, of San Diego, who lived in the 12800 block of Circulo Dardo, was shot in the stomach by a man who also robbed him of $30. Moshtagh died April 27 at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
Moshtagh was sitting with a woman in a parking lot overlooking the ocean when a small, dark gray hatchback struck his car.
Moshtagh was shot when he got out of the car to investigate.
The suspects are said to be Latino, in their early 20s and between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11.
The man who shot Moshtagh apparently has thin, dark brown hair and was wearing blue jeans.
The man who drove the car, possibly a late-model Honda Civic or Ford Fiesta, is thin and wore dark clothing.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call authorities at 565-5200 or 692-5600.
