Aeroflot to Service West Coast: Aeroflot, the Soviet Union’s only airline, is beginning its first service to the West Coast on May 19 with a flight between San Francisco and the Siberian city of Khabarovsk, via Anchorage. The airline will offer a single flight every Sunday to and from Khabarovsk, a river port in the southeast corner of the Soviet Union, near China.
