Basically Controversial: Shooting on the Michael Douglas movie thriller “Basic Instinct” wrapped up in San Francisco Wednesday after weeks of controversy that resulted in demonstrations, arrests and vandalism against what some protesters decried as negative depiction of lesbians. On Tuesday, police informed producer Alan Marshall that he was under citizen’s arrest, based on charges by a citizen who claimed Marshall had protesters falsely imprisoned last week when they attempted to disrupt production. A police spokesman said Marshall was not held.
