BOSTON — The Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons will play the second game of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Thursday afternoon in order to avoid back-to-back games, team officials said Monday.
Game 2 is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT at Boston Garden.
The first game in the series is set for tonight. The Garden was available Wednesday night, but Celtic officials said they want to avoid back-to-back games. The Garden is booked Thursday night for Game 5 of the Boston Bruin-Pittsburgh Penguin NHL playoff series and Friday night for a figure skating show.
The Pistons will play host to Game 3 on Saturday afternoon and Game 4 on Monday night.
