Postal Boxes Set Up for Mother’s Day

Post offices in Ventura County have help for people who procrastinate in sending Mother’s Day cards.
Special white collection boxes will be available for the cards at main post offices throughout the county until Saturday, postal officials said.
Postal customers may put their hand-addressed cards in white boxes at the main post offices in the cities of Ventura, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Ojai and Camarillo.
The cards will be kept separate from machine-addressed envelopes and will be rushed to letter-sorting machines for processing, said Mary Frink, director of marketing and communication for area post offices.
The white collection boxes are used during special occasions when mail volume is expected to be heavier than usual.
