Telecommunications Firm Posts $16,000 in Earnings

Franklin Telecommunications Corp. in Westlake Village said it earned $16,000 in its fiscal third quarter, compared with a $249,000 loss a year earlier.

Franklin, a provider of telecommunications networks through its Franklin Datacom unit, said the latest earnings came despite a 42% decline in its revenue, to $856,000 in the quarter ended March 31 from $1.47 million a year ago.

For the first nine months of its fiscal year, Franklin had a $124,000 profit compared with a $322,000 loss a year earlier, and its nine-month revenue fell 25% to $3.49 million from $4.64 million.
