Dusty Should Have Found New Owner

As a dog lover, I found the picture of Dusty licking her owner Barbara Rees in the ‘Wonder Dog” story particularly heartwarming, but after reading the accompanying article, I feel ill.

The fact that Dusty completed the 25-mile trek home was amazing, but my question is: Why? The Reeses obviously didn’t care about this dog prior to the publicity it brought them.

David’s final words of wisdom were “Now, if we ever have to put her to sleep and she came back, then we’re talking ‘The Twilight Zone.’ ” What a grotesque thought. These people do not deserve such a loving animal.
