Arkansas’ Day Says He Will Return
Arkansas basketball player Todd Day announced that would return for his senior season with the Razorbacks, even though Day and three teammates won’t be able to play until December because of punishment stemming from their involvement in a sexual incident with a woman in the athletic dormitory in February.
The university judicial board suspended Day, a 6-foot-8 forward from Memphis, and teammates Darrell Hawkins, Roosevelt Wallace and Elmer Martin for a year, but the penalty was reduced by university system president B. Alan Sugg.
In his first public comment on the issue, Day said he regretted the incident: “I have learned a great deal about myself and my responsibilities, and in the future I know that I will use better judgment in compromising situations.”
