Man Gets 13 Years for Killing Ex-Wife, Her Lover

An Echo Park man was sentenced to 13 years in prison Thursday for killing his former wife--who had moved back into his home--and her lover as they lay in bed watching an X-rated video.
Sea Thach, 27, was convicted last month of two counts of voluntary manslaughter for the shootings that Superior Court Judge Paul Flynn found were committed in the heat of passion. Deputy Dist. Atty. Carol Straughn said Thach, a native of Cambodia, was working when he got a call from a relative who said his wife, Bunda Chay, 25, had asked to borrow an X-rated video.
Thach left work in Hawthorne, went home and found Chay and Thomas Yoong, 33, of El Monte in bed, Straughn said. The prosecutor said Thach pulled a gun and shot them.
