Continental Airlines Inc.: The Houston-based carrier’s first-quarter loss deepened to $181.3 million from $107.1 million in the year-ago quarter. Revenue fell 32% to $1.3 billion. The recession and a falloff in travel related to the Persian Gulf War hit the airline industry hard in the first quarter.
