WEEKEND TV : Finding Some Ways to Celebrate

Celebrations abound.
KCBS Channel 2’s “Cinco de Mayo Special” at 4:30 p.m. Sunday surveys how Latino communities in the Southland are celebrating the Mexican holiday. The program includes reports on how to prepare a Mexican feast, the artistic work of young Latinos and an interview with comedian Paul Rodriguez.
Carnegie Hall celebrates its 100th birthday in a four-hour concert on PBS, Sunday at 6 p.m. (24) and 7 p.m. (28)(15), “Carnegie Hall: Live at 100!” Zubin Mehta and James Levine conduct performances by such noted classical artists as Isaac Stern, Yo-Yo Ma, Pinchas Zukerman, Placido Domingo and Jessye Norman.
Lifetime celebrates “L.A. Law” with a nine-hour marathon starting today at noon. The daylong event includes the best episodes of the award-winning series’ first four seasons.
And “America’s Funniest Home Videos” celebrates yet another $100,000 giveaway by allowing viewers to vote for the winner via a 900-line telephone number. Sunday at 8 p.m., the show will present the eight clips competing for the grand prize along with the numbers that allow viewers to vote. The winner will be announced the following week.
