Cortex Nets $1.9 Million in Private Securities Offering

Cortex Pharmaceuticals Inc. said it has completed a $2.1-million private offering of its securities. The Irvine-based company said the securities sold generated $1.9 million in net proceeds after expenses related to the offering. Cortex, which develops drugs used to treat and diagnose age-related diseases and brain disorders, said the funds will be used for research and development and general corporate purposes.
