California IN BRIEF : SAN RAFAEL : Porn King Pleads Innocent in Killing

Porn king Jim Mitchell has pleaded innocent to charges that he killed his brother and business partner, Artie. Defense lawyers, at Mitchell’s appearance in Marin County Superior Court, argued that their client should be moved from the county jail to a psychiatric facility because he has been diagnosed as “clinically depressed with suicidal ideation.” Judge Gary Thomas will hold a hearing on the request Wednesday. Mitchell, 47, was indicted last week by a Marin County grand jury for the slaying of his brother last month. Artie Mitchell, 45, was found dead of gunshot wounds in his home. Jim Mitchell was arrested moments later.
