People with friends and relatives serving in the Persian Gulf can cut back the LEVEL OF STRESS by not following news of the Gulf War obsessively. Peter J. Behrens of Pennsylvania State University says: “News updates have to be kept within boundaries or they can get obsessive.” His remedies for media overload: Talk with friends and family, stay busy with other activities, write letters and use toll-free hot lines for information.
