Dodgers Could Use an Academy Right Here
I was disgusted to read the article on the Dodgers’ baseball academy in the Dominican Republic.
Here in Southern California, we have the richest talent reservoir in the world, and the kids in the inner city are crying for this kind of help. For the almost $400,000 it took to build that facility and its annual budget, we could be giving badly needed help to our own kids, taking them off the streets, out of gangs, and away from drugs.
The future Strawberrys, Murrays and Davises are down there, yet the Dodgers spend their money in the Caribbean.
I think it stinks.
