Bruich Is Suspended From Team

According to a Loyola sports information official, Kristen Bruich has been suspended indefinitely from the basketball team. Reportedly Bruich and Loyola Coach Todd Corman argued during halftime of Wednesday’s game against Cal State Northridge and Bruich did not return for the second half.
Sources say the dispute started because Corman was unhappy with Bruich’s first-half performance. The senior point guard led the team with 14 points, but the Lions lost, 69-57, to a Northridge team that is making its Division I debut this season.
Corman would not say why Bruich did not return for the second half of a game in which Loyola trailed by only four at halftime.
“It’s a personal matter,” he said.
Bruich did not travel with the team for Friday’s game against Southern Utah. Reached at her parents’ Fontana home on Thursday, she said she had no comment.
