USIU Extends Losing Skid

DAYTON, Ohio — U.S. International’s men’s basketball team extended its losing streak to eight games and, for the second consecutive night, was trounced at the US Air Classic Saturday. Stephen F. Austin defeated the Gulls, 98-56, in the consolation game of the tournament played at Wright State.
The Lumberjacks shot 54% from the field and had a 51-31 edge over USIU (1-12) in rebounding.
The 42-point loss was the Gulls’ second-worst defeat this season. Their worst, a 48-point setback to Murray State, came in the tournament opener Friday.
Stephen F. Austin (4-5) got 28 points from Jack Little. Kevin Bradshaw, USIU’s leading scorer, finished with 15 points. It was his lowest scoring night of the season.
