COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Kirby Scores 27, but Chapman Women Fall

Despite 27 points by Linda Kirby, Chapman College lost to Humboldt State, 86-74, in a nonconference women’s basketball game Friday at Arcata.
Kirby was three of six on three-pointers and 12 of 22 from the field overall for Chapman (6-4).
Dawn Miner scored 23 to lead Humboldt State (7-2), which led at the half, 40-33.
In another nonconference women’s basketball game:
Christ College Irvine 106, Whittier 41--Nancy Geisler had 18 points and Julie Workman had 16 for host Christ College (7-1), which led, 62-18, at the half.
In nonconference wrestling:
Minnesota 32, Cal State Fullerton 7--Lyndon Campbell won a 5-2 decision at 134 pounds and heavyweight David Jones won a 15-4 major decision for host Cal State Fullerton (2-3).
Minnesota’s Marty Morgan, ranked No. 1 in the county at 190 pounds, pinned Fullerton’s Ramon Diaz at 4 minutes 42 seconds of the match.
