Berenice Cox; Women’s Club Founder

Berenice Lawrence Cox, 80, who distributed radio programs through her Lawrence Productions and was a founder of the Brentwood Bel-Air Women’s Club. A native of Peabody, Kan., Mrs. Cox began her radio career and moved to Los Angeles after her divorce from Morris A. Lawrence. After her marriage to Alan B. Cox in 1949, she abandoned her career and began working with women’s organizations and charities. She was also a founder of Las Comadres Auxiliary of Children’s Home Society. On Dec. 4 in her Westwood home after a stroke.
