VENTURA : Oxnard Man Dies After Freeway Crash

A 64-year-old Oxnard man died Sunday night after his car crossed into an opposite lane of the Ventura Freeway and hit another car head-on, the California Highway Patrol reported.
James Eugene Casey died at Ventura County Medical Center about 8:40 p.m., a spokeswoman said.
Casey, who was traveling south about 10 miles north of Ventura, crossed into a northbound lane and struck the other car about 4:14 p.m. CHP officers are investigating why Casey’s car veered into oncoming traffic. A woman driving the other car was uninjured, the spokeswoman said.
