Ventura County Sales of Existing Houses Drop 20%

Sales of existing single-family houses in Ventura County slumped 20% in September from August and plunged 32% from September, 1989. The median price for houses sold in the county was $241,290 in September, up 3% from $234,006 in August, but 2% below the $245,450 median price a year earlier.
The house-sales data was collected from the Camarillo, Conejo, Ojai Valley, Oxnard Harbor, Simi Valley and Ventura boards of Realtors.
