OAKLAND — Larry Todd, a former wide receiver and running back for the Oakland Raiders, has died of cancer at 50.
Todd was recently diagnosed with myeloidesis, a form of cancer, and died Oct. 17 in an Oakland hospital.
Todd was troubled by injuries during his six seasons with the Raiders from 1965 to 1970. Some of his greatest playing days came during his rookie year when he rushed 20 times for 134 yards and one touchdown against the Houston Oilers.
He was limited by a broken arm in 1968 and played out his career as a running back, never achieving the stardom predicted by those close to the club.
