Police Complaint Board Panelists Sought

LONG BEACH — Applications are being sought for positions on the new 11-member Citizen Police Complaint Commission.
The panel will receive and investigate allegations of police misconduct, with emphasis on excessive force, false arrest, and complaints with racial or sexual overtones.
It will also conduct hearings into allegations of police misconduct and subpoena witnesses and other materials as necessary.
Members will be appointed by the mayor, subject to the confirmation by the City Council, with one member appointed to represent each of the nine City Council districts and two at-large representatives.
Applications are available at City Hall, 333 W. Ocean Blvd., or by calling 590-6801. Applications must be returned to City Hall no later than Wednesday.
