The new TV movie Shattered Dreams (CBS Sunday at 9 p.m.) stars Lindsay Wagner and Michael Nouri in the true story of the battered wife of a prominent Washington official.

People Like Us (NBC Sunday at 9 p.m., completed Monday at 9 p.m.) is the new two-part TV movie based on Dominick Dunne’s bestseller about a journalist obsessed with avenging his daughter’s murder. Connie Selleca and Ben Gazzara star.

Batteries Not Included (Channel 5 Monday at 8 p.m., again Saturday at 6 p.m.) is a delightful 1987 fantasy in which Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy star as an elderly couple trying to hold out in their now-desolate block in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

No Way Out (Channel 13 Monday at 8 p.m.) is a sleek and sexy 1987 reworking of the much better “Big Clock” and given a misfired surprise twist. Kevin Coster stars in this thriller set in Washington and involving murder in high places.

Harry and the Hendersons (Channel 5 Tuesday at 8 p.m.), a treacly 1987 comic fantasy about a Seattle family taking home an injured bigfoot, stars John Lithgow and Melinda Dillon.

As a director Danny De Vito, in the 1987 Throw Momma from the Train (CBS Tuesday a 9 p.m.), is as explosive as he is an actor in this raucous, hilarious take-off on Hitchcock’s “Strangers on a Train.” Starring with De Vito: Billy Crystal and the late Anne Ramsey as Momma.

In Superman (Channel 13 Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.), that romantic and thoroughly entertaining 1978 fantasy, we’re introduced to the comic book hero who comes from the planet Krypton--Marlon Brando, no less, is his father--to save Metropolis. Christopher Reeve is perfect as shy, awkward, myopic Clark Kent as he is as Superman, embodiment of the invincible hero.

In its seventh remake, Brewster’s Millions (Channel 5 Wednesday at 8 p.m.) stars Richard Pryor as an extremely minor league pitcher stunned to learn that he’s the beneficiary of a squirrelly bequest requiring that he must spend a fortune in a month or lose millions more. Pryor is wonderful, especially in registering pure joy over his great luck, but the 1985 film itself falls flat.

Hands of a Murderer (CBS Wednesday at 9 p.m.), a new TV movie, stars Edward Woodward and John Hillerman as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson; once again, they’re after the elusive and evil Professor Moriarty.

Summer School (Channel 13 Thursday at 8 p.m.) is a good-natured, perceptive 1987 comedy in which a high school gym teacher, all set for a Hawaiian vacation, is lassoed into teaching remedial English.

Sadly, in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (Channel 5 Friday at 8 p.m.) there’s a simple, idealistic core--the Man of Steel (Christopher Reeve) and his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) become locked in a a world arms struggle--that’s been submerged in mountains of big-movie rubble.

The new TV Return to Green Acres (CBS Friday at 9 p.m.) brings back Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor in a new TV movie based on their popular TV series.

Joe Cocker: Mad Dogs and Englishmen (Channel 28 Friday at 11:30 p.m.) is a fine, gritty 1971 documentary on the hard-driving, raspy-voiced Cocker’s 1970 American tour.
