Rogers 52nd in Tour de Trump

Thurlow Rogers of Van Nuys recorded his best stage finish Wednesday on the seventh day of cycling’s Tour de Trump, placing 26th in the Lehigh Valley, Pa., Circuit Race.
Rogers completed the 71-mile stage in 3 hours 43 seconds, the same time as winner Olaf Ludwig of East Germany. The performance put Rogers 52nd in the overall standings.
Rogers began Wednesday’s stage by finishing 99th in a 16.5-mile individual time trial through Lehigh Valley. Rogers was timed in 39 minutes 25.36 seconds in a stage won by Mexico’s Raul Alcala in 32:03.87.
The 11-day, 1,107-mile race continues today with a 120.5-mile road race from Stroudsburg, Pa., to New Paltz, N.Y.
