A 21-year-old Sunland woman was killed when her car went out of control on Angeles Forest Highway north of La Canada Flintridge and overturned, the California Highway Patrol reported this morning.
The accident occurred near Lucas Creek about a half-mile north of the junction with Big Tujunga Canyon Road at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, CHP Officer Sherry Noel said.
The woman was driving northbound and lost control of the car on a curve and the vehicle overturned. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and killed on impact, Noel said.
An off-duty sheriff’s deputy driving by the area spotted the wreckage shortly after the accident.
The victim’s name was withheld until relatives could be notified.
