Washington Irving Branch Library

The Board of Library Commissioners is committed to providing the best possible public library service for Los Angeles. In pursuit of that goal, we conducted an extensive examination of our branch facilities and our needs for the future. The Branch Facilities Plan calls for a 9,000-square-foot building to be constructed on a new site for the Washington Irving branch library.
In selecting sites and designs for our library facilities, we always involve the communities they serve.
With regard to the Washington Irving branch library project, no final decisions have been made. We are in a continuing dialogue with representatives of various points of view. However, we must come to a resolution in the near future.
