Datron Systems Agrees to Buy Transco Products

Datron Systems, a Simi Valley producer of satellite signal-receiving dishes and other communications products, said it signed a letter of intent to acquire Transco Products from Vard Newport. Terms were not disclosed.
Transco, based in Camarillo, designs and manufactures microwave antennas and switches used on ships, submarines, aircraft, space vehicles and missiles. In 1989, Transco had sales of $22.9 million.
Separately, Datron said its profit in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 rose 12% from a year earlier, to $1.20 million from $1.07 million, while its sales climbed to $12.3 million from $11.6 million.
