Comic Andrew Dice Clay Named in Palimony Suit

Off-color entertainer Andrew Dice Clay has something new to swear about: The controversial stand-up comic known for his X-rated routines has been named in a palimony suit by his former wife and live-in lover.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday by Kathy Swanson in Los Angeles Superior Court, said that Clay and Swanson agreed soon after meeting in September, 1980, that the aspiring actress would give up her career and become Clay’s companion, financially supporting him and helping him to write his acts.
In exchange, Clay agreed to share his earnings with Swanson after he became successful, the suit contends. The suit seeks more than $3 million for “her support and maintenance” because Swanson “abandoned her opportunities.”
The couple were married in July, 1984, and divorced two years later. Clay could not be reached for comment.
