Car Strikes, Kills Mission Viejo Boy, 12, in Crosswalk

MISSION VIEJO — A 12-year-old boy died Saturday after being struck by a car at a crosswalk, authorities said.
Gregory Ryan Maranto was walking across Crown Valley Parkway at Bellogente about 12:30 Saturday afternoon when he was hit by a car driven by Jena Bouvion, 39, of Mission Viejo, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jay Mendez said.
The boy was pronounced dead at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo.
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the accident.
