Body of Girl Discovered Along Path Near Creek

The body of an unidentified girl, believed to be about 12 years old, was found beside the dry bed of Coyote Creek in Lakewood on Monday night.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s and coroner’s deputies said they could not immediately determine if she had met with foul play.
Sheriff’s deputies said they had no reports of a missing girl who would match the child’s description.
The fully clothed body of the girl, described only as white or Latino, was discovered by cyclists riding along the creek’s bike path, just east of the 605 Freeway, deputies said.
