COSTA MESA — The Israeli-based Batsheva Dance Company has been tentatively booked for Oct. 28 at Orange Coast College, according to an announcement Monday by George Blanc, the school’s director of community services and continuing education.
The modern dance company was founded in 1963 by Bethsabee de Rothschild and made its debut a year later in Tel Aviv. Most of the 16 dancers in the original company had studied with seminal modern dance pioneer Martha Graham, who served as artistic adviser to the company for a number of years. The troupe appeared in Orange County, at Orange Coast College, in November of 1986.
