New Health-Care Plan for Wells Fargo: The bank holding company said it will implement a new self-insured health-care plan for its 15,000 employees in 1991, in part to slow the rise in the cost of providing coverage. The plan, to be administered by The Travelers Cos., will include a network of health-care providers similar to a health maintenance organization, but was specifically designed for the firm’s approximately 70% female work force, a company spokeswoman said. Employees will still have the option to enroll in one HMO--Kaiser Permanente.
