A Los Gatos educator has been named superintendent of the Arcadia Unified School District.
Terrence M. Towner, superintendent of the 3,000-student Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District near San Jose, will assume his $91,000-a-year job July 1. The Arcadia district has 7,800 students.
He replaces Stephen A. Goldstone, who left Arcadia in September to become superintendent of the Chino Unified School District.
Towner has a master’s degree in Latin American and Asian history from Cal State Los Angeles and a doctorate in education from USC. His appointment ends a four-month national search.
