A San Diego man has died of injuries he received in a hit-and-run accident that killed another man, Chula Vista police said Wednesday.
Edward Maher, 31, died Sunday of multiple injuries, a coroner’s deputy said.
Maher and 23-year-old Raymond Jarvey were playing pool in Smitty’s Tavern at 119 Broadway when a fight broke out shortly after 1:45 a.m. Saturday, police Sgt. Richard Coulson said. The bartender told the two men to leave and they continued the fight outside, armed with pool cues.
Witnesses saw the men lying in the street fighting when a car traveling about 35 m.p.h. ran over them, Coulson said.
