Two Plead Not Guilty to Firing at Copters

Two men pleaded not guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor charges for allegedly firing miniature sky rockets at low-flying helicopters spraying pesticide over Norwalk.
Patrick Gilmour, 21, and Charles Wilbur Rockwell, 21, both of suburban Norwalk, are charged with one count each of possession of dangerous fireworks and unlawful discharge of dangerous fireworks at a person.
The two allegedly launched at least one bottle rocket at helicopters contracted by state agriculture officials to spray the pesticide malathion over Norwalk on Friday night, said Mike Botula, a district attorney’s spokesman. The next court appearance for the pair was set for March 5 in Downey Municipal court.
