The French Boxing Federation announced a ban on World Boxing Organization bouts in the country because last week’s chaotic super-welterweight title fight in Deauville.
Last Saturday’s bout between WBO champion John David Jackson of the United States and challenger Martin Camara of France was declared no contest because of a dispute over the count when Camara knocked out Jackson in the 11th round. The WBO later reversed itself and announced that no decision meant the title was vacant and a rematch had to be scheduled. But the WBO announced Tuesday that Jackson remains champion.
