N.Y. Copter Crash Pilot Says He Was Hit by Wind

NEW YORK — The pilot of a sightseeing helicopter that crashed into the East River, critically injuring a teen-ager, believes the aircraft was caught by a gust of wind, officials said Sunday. But authorities said it was too early to conclude what caused the copter to go down Saturday with the pilot and four passengers aboard. They said they have not ruled out the possibility that there was some type of mechanical problem.
