Los Angeles police this morning were investigating the detonation of an explosive device that shattered the windows of a front-loader parked on a construction site in Granada Hills, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said the blast occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday at Seson Boulevard and Louise Avenue where property that was once part of the late actor James Cagney’s ranch is being cleared for development by the M. J. Brock Construction Co.
The construction site is not part of the huge Porter Ranch tract being considered by the city for commercial and home development, said Detective Patrick Metoyer of the criminal conspiracy unit.
“Some kind of pyrotechnic device was placed in the cab of the construction vehicle, and it blew the windows out,” Metoyer said.
