Downey : Rockwell Employees Give $1.6 Million to Charities

Rockwell International Corp. presented $1.6 million in employee donations to the United Way, the American Heart Assn., the American Cancer Society and the Crippled Children’s Society during a ceremony Tuesday at its plant in Downey.
The $1.6 million was generated through the donations of thousands of Southern California Rockwell employees, a spokesman for the aerospace firm said.
In addition to the employee donations, Rockwell International contributed $1 million to Los Angeles and Orange County United Way organizations in 1989, the spokesman said.
