Pasadena : Lot Sale Aids Decker House
As part of a proposal to rehabilitate the Decker House, a Victorian home, and convert it into a restaurant and office building, the city will sell an adjacent lot to developer Tom Scott.
After the changes, the home at 750 N. Fair Oaks Ave. will be called the Heritage House.
The arrangement was approved Tuesday by the Board of Directors, which was called to resolve a two-year-old impasse between Scott and city development officials. The city originally proposed to install 20 parking spaces on the city-owned lot and lease it to Scott.
Under the new arrangement, Scott will buy the city land for the parking lot for $87,500, and the city’s Community Development Commission will contribute up to $35,000 toward the cost of the $232,000 project.
