Sony Plans to Build Plant in Singapore

TOKYO — Sony Corp. said it will build a state-of-the-art automated plant to manufacture picture tubes for color television sets in Singapore, starting in the second quarter of 1992.
The Tokyo-based electronic giant said the project calls for investment of about $174 million (350 million Singapore dollars) through 1993.
