Countrywide Credit Industries Inc.: The Pasadena firm earned $3.73 million in its third quarter, a decline of 27.6% from a year ago, on revenue of $28.2 million, up 28%. Last year’s results included a $2.3-million gain on the sale of debt, without which this year’s figures would represent a 31% gain. The nationwide mortgage lender said the improved revenue reflected increased loan originations at better margins, a growing loan-servicing portfolio and improvement in other operations, including Countrywide Thrift & Loan. “Servicing sales declined because the company chose to sell less servicing,” the company said.
