Explosive Loyola Previews Cage Year

Loyola Marymount’s basketball team will provide a preview of the season in its annual Crimson-Gray public intrasquad game at 7:30 tonight in Gersten Pavilion.

The Lions, known for explosive scoring, return much of their record-setting offense led by seniors Hank Gathers, Bo Kimble and Jeff Fryer, who combined for more than 100 points in a game last season.

Other returning starters and lettermen include Per Stumer, Tom Peabody and Terrell Lowery. In the front line, lettermen Marcellus Lee, Chris Knight, Marcus Slater, John O’Connell and Jeff Roscoe are putting up a spirited battle for playing time. New faces include guards Tony Walker, a junior college transfer; freshman forward Chris Scott, and walk-on freshman Greg Walker.
