I was amused by Robert Hilburn’s predictable overintellectualizing of the Stones’ tour debut in Philadelphia. Does it ever occur to him that the Stones just want to play some music and have some fun? Not every band is as obsessed with social commentary as he is.
Come on, Hilburn, lighten up! To use a Mick Jagger quote from your article: “It’s only rock ‘n’ rock.”
