Dominguez Hills Women Tie Two Soccer Records

The Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s soccer team tied two school records and ran its season log to 10-0 Wednesday with a 5-0 home victory over Westmont College. Goalie Chris Pezzulo recorded her ninth shutout to tie Sandra Powers’ 3-year-old school mark, while Kristi White scored the game’s first goal and had two assists to give her 77 career points, tying recent graduate Michele Salas’ record.
The Lady Toros scored three times in the first 18 minutes and ran up a 4-0 lead by halftime on goals by White, Lenore Johnson, Heather Rolland and Jenny Grasso. Rolland scored the second-half goal. Pezzulo recorded three saves.

Loyola Marymount lost to Azusa Pacific, 7-1, in a men’s soccer game at Azusa. Eric Hill scored in the 77th minute to avoid the shutout. The Lions fell to 1-8.
Loyola defeated Occidental, 13-7, in a water polo match at Loyola. Hans Goettling, Bobby Carollo and Tim Waggoner scored three goals apiece as the Lions improved to 5-4. Waggoner has 23 goals for the season.
